MSU Student Association hosts āItās On Usā week of action

STARKVILLE, Miss.āŗ£½ĒŅłÄøĀŅĀ×ās Student Association is hosting an āItās On Usā series of events this week as part of a national campaign to raise awareness for sexual assault prevention.
Today-Friday [Oct. 17-21], SA members will be on the universityās historic Drill Field, where individuals of the campus community can sign a pledge to stop sexual assault. Pledges also will be placed on an āItās On Usā wooden display to encourage students to post pictures via social media using the hashtag #ItsOnUsMSState. Students who post on social media will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card.
From 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday [Oct. 18], a social media campaign for change will take place. Students will have the opportunity to voice their questions and concerns regarding the topic of sexual assault on a white board that will be displayed on the Drill Field.
Questions will be answered from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Colvard Student Union Room 326, as well as via the SA Twitter accountā@MSU_SA. Brett Harvey, the universityās director of Title IX and EEO programs, will share his expertise while providing answers to questions posed.
Additionally, SA will host a 6:45 p.m. showing of āThe Hunting Groundā Thursday [Oct. 20] in McCool Hallās Taylor Auditorium. The movie details stories of college students across the nation and documents their experiences of fighting for justice.
Hosting its first National Week of Action in 2014, āItās On Usā is a nationwide effort aimed at mobilizing students around the country to take action to prevent sexual assault on their respective campuses. For more, visit and follow on Facebook and Twitter @ItsOnUs.
